SHIFTING HORIZONS

Artworks submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney. The project consists of 3 major elements: Repository boxes, an army of 700 clay angels and a series of 34 vertical compositions on Chinese rice paper scrolls (each 150x70cm) extending over 25 meters long. Entitled Cline, it juxtaposes screen-printed images of Emperor Qin’s terracotta army, which I had photographed on-site, with painted fragments of nature.
